Xavor's Happenings at MSCE

Xavor at Oracle's Modern Supply Chain Experience

It was great to be back at Oracle’s Modern Supply Chain Experience (MSCE) again this year as an Agile PLM Gold Sponsor at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, CA. The event took place from February 13th – 15th 2017. For those of you who we met with, it was great seeing you! If you weren’t able to make it this year, we’ve included a quick recap of what Xavor offered and what we have in store:

Agile PLM Training Sessions

We started MSCE with 3 Agile PLM training sessions that took place the morning before the keynote started on Monday, February 13th. The first session was on our “Groovy Scripts for Non-Programmers” which was presented by our Managing Consultant Saeed Ahmad. The session covered various automation(s) to enhance your Agile use, an overview of free automations/scripts that Oracle provides and how to get a script working. If you missed this, we have a recording of the session available here. In addition, you can check out training session document and sample script below:

The next training session that we offered, was “BI Publisher - Enabling Power Users to Create Formatted Documents and Reports based on Agile Data.” This session provided an overview of the solution Xavor’s Managing Consultant Ali Abbas Malik demonstrated how to publish a document from scratch including template creation, field mappings and steps to setup a simple groovy based trigger. We have a recorded version of this training session here. The BI training session document can be found here as well:

Our final training session of the day was presented by Tom Nelson, Xavor’s Principal, Product Management and Innovation who talked about “Agile PPM: How To Improve Your On Time/Budget Performance”. Tom discussed how you can achieve better than 90% success using the new features of Agile PPM and some of Xavor’s latest process extensions. He demonstrated multi-project views, resource loading/leveling methods, Theory of Constraints and Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM), top 12 causes of project failure and guidelines for improved project management. Like the other training sessions we had, we also have a recording available here. You may also find the training documentation here:

Life at the Xavor Booth

Alongside Oracle and additional Agile PLM Partners, this year Xavor had a lot booth traffic and this year’s “booth crew” was able to meet with a lot of our customers and partners. We also had the opportunity to meet and chat with a lot of new folks within the Agile PLM community. We showcased our Agile PLM Solutions along with a “pilot” demonstration of our 100% native Environmental Governance and Compliance (EG&C) module for Oracle Cloud which will be available later this year.

Use Agile PLM to Simplify Your Job

In addition to the training sessions and meetings at the Xavor booth at MSCE, Tom Nelson presented during the afternoon in the PLM Partner Innovations track. His session was titled, “Use PLM to Simplify Your Job: Spend Your Day Executing Rather Than Defining” and he definitely the packed house. Tom talked about how Xavor’s prebuilt solutions and process extensions maximize the UX during item creation and maintenance. Tom also showed how the UI wizard requires minimal training; how its ingenious integration of Microsoft Office and Oracle’s Agile Product Lifecycle Management saves time; and how it’s predefined and editable PPM templates for NPI and derivative products, among others, promote consistency. If you’d like a copy of the presentation, please feel free to send us a message and we’ll be sure to send you a copy!
